What is a Postpartum Doula?

A postpartum doula as a professional support person trained in the needs of the family in the days, weeks and months after birth or the addition of a new baby. The doula offers non-judgmental support, guidance, evidence based education and practical hands-on support immediately after birth through the first year.

Within days of birth, Dear Doula provides postpartum support for birthing individual, baby and the family.

Tasks Included:

  • Emotional support/reassurance on parenting 

  • Nurture postpartum individual

  • Get partner involved with assisting with care

  • Provide suggestions/tips with getting older siblings involved 

  • Going over "Normal Newborn Behavior"

  • Breast/chest/bottle feeding support 

  • Help establishing routine/organize nursery 

  • Light house work, food shopping, meal preparation 

  • Review/process of the birth 

  • Discuss birthing individual and partners emotional state

  • Provide recommendations/referrals, if requested 

Dear Doula offers Postpartum Day & Night Time Support! 

Day Hours: 8am-6pm 

Night Hours: 7pm-7am

Minimum of 12/hours of care per package

*Packages vary depending on need for family*
